The Dark Knight

The Dark Knight is a action packed drama that is a stem of the cartoon of Batman. This film is a very suspensful and interesting plot with a very unique villian the Joker, who in my opinion, made this film a hit. The plot involves Jokers sadistic plot to use his mob members to kill Batman. In my opinion, Heath Ledger did an amazing job on jokers character. I felt alot of emotion during the popular scene of "why so serious-lets put a smile on your face," i forgot the story or reasoning behind the jokers scars and why he is the wack job he is. I really had to laugh at his bizarre comments and behaviors, like saying, "here's my card," from the deck and the lashing out scene where he holds the officer at knife point and all he wants was his one phone call. I felt that there was also a really neat vibe to the film, it was irry and suspenseful even though there was no major mystery made me very intrgued and this put my ratings way higher than other superhero/villian films.
Chapter 7 focuses on color in a film. Earlier i discussed the erry and gloomy feel that was demonstrated in the visual component of this film. The tones were very gray, black, and blue. The presence of light was little to non-existent. I felt this was the perfect touch to the Gothim City, Crazed Villian, Batman saves the day type plot. This movie would not have worked if it was bright colored with lots of business. I felt it was portrayed excellently.
Chapter 8 and 9 discuss the sound and music component of a film. In this film, there was a significant presence of sound but it was shown threw emphasize on dramatic scenes. We heard loud car sounds when Batman was in a hurry in the Batmobile and other sgnificant items. I felt that there was not alot of lyrical music but more instrumental that added to the suspense that this film was trying to present. I also found some of the instrumental music to on the dark-side feel which was perfect for this irry film in Gothic City.
Overall i really enjoyed this film. I was extremely intrigued in the Joker. The psychological perspective and his ability to manipulate and organize such a dramatic scene was breath taking to experience. I found myself with lots of laughs and also questioning what was going on. I really did feel that this film was well done and directed and all the actors did a fabulous job. Excellent film with a dark side.
